Mary Partlow, LCSW / Licensed by State of New Mexico / C-11735
I believe in a therapeutic alliance that is grounded in collaboration and partnership. I use the skills of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, mind-body practices for coping with and healing from trauma, and mindfulness based interventions to address a broad range of client issues and needs.
Professionally I have held positions in corporate communications, integrative behavioral health, global health advocacy, and higher education. In the field of secondary education I have worked in adventure based outdoor education, experiential education and residential treatment for at-risk youth. In the field of Social Work specifically I have worked with a broad range of individuals and communities facing a multiplicity of complex issues on both the micro (frontline) and macro (policy and advocacy) levels. As a Clinical Social Worker all of my professional and personal experience inform my practice and have taught me that life can be hard, healing is possible, vulnerability is not easy and challenges do bring opportunity and possibility.
My MSW was earned at the University of Alabama, I received training as a professional life/executive coach at the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, and completed extensive training with various teachers in the areas of yoga and meditation. My belief is that we never stop learning and while formal education is important and in my field essential, it is the ongoing process of remaining curious and engaged in life-long learning that serves me and my clients.
