Do you take insurance?
I accept United Health Care and Presbyterian plans. I am currently in the process of applying for credentialing with Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. As soon as I know my credentialing is in place I will publish the list of insurances I am able to bill.
What is your fee?
My rate for private pay clients is $150.00 per 50-minute session. If this is out of your range please reach out to me as I offer a sliding scale to a limited number of clients based on your circumstances and my appointment availability.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
This is such an important question as you will be dedicating your time and energy to achieve certain goals in therapy and you will achieve your best results in the right therapeutic relationship. We will meet initially in a free 15-minute phone consultation and I encourage you to have a set of questions for me to help inform your decision. If after the call, you would like to pursue therapy with me or think you would, we will meet in person for a full session and that is usually when it becomes very clear if we are a good match or not.
How often will I see you?
It is typical to have weekly appointments in the beginning so that we can develop a working relationship and in my experience this allows the work to move along at a good pace. Over time we may move to bi-weekly sessions and in the case of solution-focused brief therapy your entire number of sessions may be limited to 8-10 weeks.
Do you offer telehealth visits?
Once we have established a therapeutic working relationship in-person I will offer the opportunity to meet by telehealth. The software I use is HIPAA compliant and uses video conferencing for telehealth visits.
Do you collaborate with prescribing providers (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians)?
I am happy to collaborate if your provider is open to a collaborative relationship and if you provide the appropriate release of information so that we can share information. Ultimately this is your choice and depends also on the willingness of your provider to engage.
Do you see couples or children?
My clients are adult individuals, I do not see couples or children.
What if I want to stop coming to therapy?
I support your decision and gut feelings so if over time it stops working for you then we will end and be okay with that. When we do end our work I will suggest a final appointment so that we can review the course of your therapy.
